Provoked by the inauguration ceremony of the new President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Bulgaria vows disagreement with statements and conduct that contradict both the Treaty of Friendship, Good Neighborliness and Cooperation of 2017 and, in principle, the agreements between the European Union and the Republic of North Macedonia.
Bulgaria has repeatedly and clearly stated its position that agreements should be strictly respected.
We remind that the Republic of North Macedonia is a NATO member state with relevant obligations and responsibilities arising therefrom.
We are convinced that the European future of the Republic of North Macedonia will be entirely contingent on the overall implementation of the July 2022 agreements as approved by all parties.
