Prime Minister Stefan Yanev met H. E. Mrs. Eleonora Mitrofanova, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Bulgaria. The discussion focused on bilateral relations that stand upon longstanding historical traditions, cultural affinity and friendly ties between the two nations.
In the course of the meeting Prime Minister Yanev stressed Bulgaria’s willingness to develop relations with the Russian Federation on the basis of equal-to-equal political dialog and constructive cooperation in all matters of mutual interest. In this context, Ambassador Mitrofanova welcomed the implementation of pragmatic win-win economic projects of common interest to both countries.
Further the discussion covered the option to let the flight recorder (“black box”) of the crashed MiG-29 aircraft be analyzed in a laboratory of the Russian Aircraft Corporation MiG based in the Russian Federation. The travel formalities have been cleared and Bulgarian military will be free to take there the “black box” in the coming days.
