Prime Minister Kiril Petkov spoke over phone with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Mr. Petkov expressed his admiration for the leadership and courage that President Zelenskyy demonstrates every day to give strength to the Ukrainian people in the face of a fratricidal war.
The Prime Minister stressed Bulgaria’s full support for all Ukrainians. Kiril Petkov was firm that all people fleeing from the war would be welcome to our country and asked to make themselves at home while the Bulgarian institutions would provide them the needed support. Agencies and ministries are engaged in helping the refugees right from the border.
Prime Minister Petkov informed Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy, inter alia, about Bulgaria’s humanitarian aid to Ukraine – hospital medical equipment and medicines. Bulgaria’s Prime Minister expressed his strong hope that peace would be back in the region as soon as possible.
