Prime Minister Kiril Petkov had a meeting with Romania’s President Klaus Iohannis in Brussels before the opening of the European Council meeting. They discussed current matters on the European agenda to be brought to the attention of the EU leaders later today. Emphasis was placed on the situation in Ukraine. It is essential for Bulgaria and Romania that are two of the member states that host people fleeing the war to get European support and solidarity as they help those in need.
The Petkov-Iohannis discussion focused, inter alia, on bilateral issues, including joint infrastructure and transport projects. The improvement of the connectivity between our two states is important equally for us, for the whole region, and for the European Union, Prime Minister Kiril Petkov stated firmly in his discussion with Romania’s President.
