Prime Minister Kiril Petkov met with Karen Donfried, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs at the US Department of State, who is on a visit to Bulgaria today and tomorrow.
The Prime Minister and the Assistant Secretary of State discussed bilateral cooperation in the security sector, NATO’s coordinated response to Russia’s war in Ukraine, joint energy projects and anticorruption measures.
Today’s talk is a continuation of the series of high-level Bulgaria-US meetings of last week when Prime Minister Kiril Petkov visited Washington where he met with US Vice President Kamala Harris, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Nancy Pelosi, White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs at the Department of State Victoria Nuland.
