Prime Minister Kiril Petkov met the ambassadors of the European Union member states. The meeting was upon the initiative of French Ambassador H. E. Mrs. Florence Robine whose country holds the presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The meeting’s agenda included, inter alia, the fight against corruption and the reform of the Bulgarian Judiciary as well as the tensions on the border of Ukraine. Bulgaria’s Prime Minister stressed that diplomatic efforts at de-escalation of the tension must continue while we must be prepared for the emergence of adverse scenarios too.
The Prime Minister informed the diplomats about the new driving force of the relations between Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia. He briefed them on the results of the meetings in recent weeks and said that he counts on the European family’s support.
That was the Prime Minister’s first meeting with the European ambassadors and the intention is to have the discussions regularly.
