As of today, we hold a valid Act 16 to use the gas Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria. This is a major success for the caretaker cabinet as ever since we assumed our ministerial functions we all have been working to enable the pipeline commissioning. This is what Ivan Shishkov, Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, said for the media. The interconnector will go into operation officially on 1 October when the gas flow is to start.
Investment projects for municipalities in Bulgaria are another sector where the caretaker cabinet has been working since the day it was appointed, Mr. Shishkov emphasized. Today’s regular meeting of the cabinet approved projects that the local authorities had submitted and requested funding for in three areas: water supply and sewerage infrastructure, street network and municipal roads. A total of BGN 406,374,769 have been earmarked to that end from the Ministry’s budget.
