The excellent dialog established in recent years between Bulgaria and Jordan sets the preconditions needed for the promotion of cooperation and the realization of its full potential. This was stated by Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov in the course of his talk with His Majesty Abdullah II, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The close cooperation and exchange of views between close and like-minded partners is of paramount importance, Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov pointed out and expressed his conviction that the current visit of the King of Jordan would give a strong impetus to bilateral relations and would be an opportunity to discuss a number of global and regional issues. Mr. Jeliazkov specially accentuated the role of the Aqaba Process in regional cooperation.
Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov noted the extremely important role of Jordan as a stabilizing power in the Middle East and appreciated the effort of King Abdullah II for peace in the region. Dialog should be the leading factor in the settlement of all disputes and conflicts, the Prime Minister pointed out. In his view, it is precisely the dialog between the regions that is the key to meet the challenges and threats in common such as terrorism, extremism or instability.
Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov specially commended King Abdullah II for his policy to support young people. Bulgaria’s Prime Minister pointed out that it is important that policies that give opportunities and prospects for the development of young people be the focus of every statesman’s work. The meeting discussed also the opportunities to expand cooperation in a number of areas including defense industry, trade, education, tourism and agriculture. Bulgaria’s Prime Minister also stressed the importance of cooperation in the field of science and new technologies.
Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov extended special greetings to Jafar Hassan, Prime Minister of Jordan, and an invitation to visit Bulgaria at his convenience. Rossen Jeliazkov expressed his confidence that the visit of Jordan’s Prime Minister, who has Bulgarian roots, would give a further boost to bilateral cooperation and strengthen the friendship between Bulgaria and Jordan.
