Prime Minister Galab Donev had a brief meeting with Germany’s Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin within the Berlin Process/the Western Balkans Summit.
Prime Minister Galab Donev highly appreciated the support as vowed by Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz for Bulgaria’s accession to Schengen. On his part, Olaf Scholz reaffirmed his position in favor of Bulgaria’s accession to the Schengen area and recognized the progress made by the caretaker government to strengthen the security along Bulgaria’s land border with Turkey.
Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed in the course of the meeting.
