Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev in Dubrovnik: We support Ukraine in its just cause to uphold independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty

14.10.2024

We support Ukraine in its just cause to uphold independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty, in line with the UN Charter and international law. This was stated by Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev in Dubrovnik where he attended the Ukraine South-East Europe Summit. The mission of the forum is for the countries of the region to support Kyiv in the fight for freedom and peace. The Summit in this format is the third in a row of the political high-level meetings in Tirana in February and in Athens in August in 2024.

A joint declaration to convey the key messages of the Summit was approved in Dubrovnik. Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev noted that the position that he expressed is strictly in keeping with the National Assembly decisions. We will support Ukraine as much as necessary and to the extent we can afford, the Prime Minister said firmly.

In his speech at the forum, Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev emphasized that the war in Ukraine required that European integration should remain high on the political agenda of the European Union. “EU enlargement is a cornerstone for peace and prosperity of the nations of Europe. I hope that Ukraine will maintain its momentum towards European integration,” Mr. Glavchev said.
