Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev: No plans to increase social security contribution payments

19.11.2024

It is not planned to increase social security contribution payments in the budget for next year, said Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev for the media. The Prime Minister recalled that the Minister of Finance had already presented the itemized budget and that employers, trade unions and some of the political parties are informed. Dimitar Glavchev emphasized that it is the Members of Parliament who are to take the final decision.

The Prime Minister attended the presentation of a new state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence – BgGPT – that is designed to operate in Bulgarian. The AI has been developed by the Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technology (INSAIT).

“This is a world-class achievement that shows the capabilities of Bulgarian science and research entities,” commented Mr. Glavchev and added that the policy concerning this activity is consistent. Last week’s cabinet meeting approved the next disbursement that the INSAIT needs to continue its research. “Since 2021 each government has allocated funds to this project and this is a good example of how we all do our work together to the benefit of the entire society,” the Prime Minister added. He emphasized that it is the only area where Bulgaria outpaces the other EU member states while the project contributes, inter alia, to the preservation of the Bulgarian language.
