The Bulgarian government offered assistance to Slovenia and Austria that were heavily hit by floods. Prime Minister Acad. Nikolai Denkov spoke by telephone with Austria’s Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer and Slovenia’s Prime Minister Robert Golob. Bulgaria expresses full sympathy and solidarity with the two countries and is willing to provide support tailored to the needs of the disaster-stricken areas. Acad. Nikolai Denkov offered to Slovenia’s Prime Minister his condolences to be conveyed to the friends and relatives of the victims of the disaster.
Torrential rains have caused cataclysmic inundations and damage in Central Europe. There are casualties in Slovenia; a state of emergency has been declared in some Austrian provinces.
